History: David is the grandson of Hal Moore (the man that defined Air Cavalry in Vietnam) and is a career Army man just like his grandfather. Trained first as Army Infantry and then as an Army Airborne Ranger. He then went on to West Point for Officer Training and graduated 6th in his class. David is trained in all NATO & Soviet small arms, demolition, HALO and LALO jumping, tactics, and Recon. He bears the Marksman Badge from his rifle training and was trained as a sniper as part of his SOD assignment (Special Operations Division). The SOD training also gave him counter-terrorism and anti-interrogation skills.

At one point David was tapped for placement in a top-secret governmental organization (the same special forces organization that recruited Lieutenant Sonya Blade) but refused the assignment, preferring to get bucked down to Sergeant Major rather than leave his beloved Army Corps.

David served for two tours in some of the worst combat in the modern age. Iraq in both wars, Haiti, and Bosnia. He has 3 purple hearts, three Congressional citations, 2 distinguished unit citations, two medals of valor, and one Congressional Medal of Honor (for single-handedly charging a Masque full of Iraqi Insurgents no less than 4 times to drag five men of his platoon from the burning wreck of a grenade demolished HUMMV… wounded twice in the process but not enough to slow him down). He has served 5 years in the SOD when the balloon finally goes up and all hell breaks loose all over the world. This makes him instantly drop any notions of retiring to a position in London and it galvanizes him to fight this foe of all human kind. Not just for his wife and kids but for all people on Earth.

EXTRA: David has made 489 jumps. 37 Combat jumps. And 10 Combat jumps behind enemy lines.
As part of the SOD he has made 7 Black jumps, into enemy territory without any hope of support or rescue and to perform “black operations” (assassinations) against deniable targets.

David Moore is on special assignment with orders from the Pentagon and the SOD to attack and eliminate any non-human invaders that he might encounter. He is working as if on a Black Operations, on his own and with minimal support from the Military.

Personality: Gruff and direct, David speaks with a pronounced southern accent (northern Texas). He knows he is a trained killer and he accepts this truth. But he is a dedicated American Soldier and will die for God, Country, and Corp. He has seen plenty of death in his time and he accepts death as not only a possibility but as a probability. And he has no fear of death because of this. Nor does he think he can save everyone under his command. BUT he will not leave any man (living or dead) behind.

Allison Montgomery-Moore (age 39) is a computer software designer born and raised in London. David met this woman when he was in London on a special detachment. This detachment was to aid a joint US-Interpol operation to intercept Arabian terrorists moving arms through ports in the UK. He was 24 at the time and she was 21. They met in a pub and had a whirlwind romance lasting a weekend. A month later Allison found out she was pregnant (Mitchell Moore) and got a-hold of David before he was shipped back to the states. They discussed their options and decided to try a marriage for the benefit of their child. They were married in London and then moved back to his station in Tennessee. They were a pretty happy couple up until David accepted placement in SOD. They had their second child by that time (Cassandra Moore) but the pressures of the position took up so much of David’s time that it put a strain on their marriage. Allison was very unhappy with the developments in their relationship and was considering filing for divorce. David convinced her to allow a trial separation until he could serve out the rest of his term, at which time he would move onto Reserve status and take a job in the civilian or para-military sector. Allison agreed to this and moved back to London with their children. David sees his family on holidays and tries to be there on birthdays… and had only 4 months left on his tour to deal with the heartache of the separation when the invasion begins.

For all their troubles Allison and David have much love and passion for one another. And the most important thing in the mans life is his children. To this end David is setting up a position in the London branch of Interpol as a counter-terrorism specialist.

Sgt. Moore is accepted. Let's hope he serves his country well...or at least survives the war eh?
